ALIEN (1979)

The Vocabulariast describes Alien as "perhaps the tensest alien movie ever made". He gives the reader a brief description on how the film starts. He then introduces Ridley Scott as the director. He compliments Scott's ability to stir up a great amount of tension and sense of unease. Credit is also given to the selection of the cast and the creation of a "super cool looking and quite possibly the best looking monster ever created". He believes that Sigourney Weaver plays a interesting character. She transforms from a cranky pilot to a straight up alien fighting bad-ass. The designs of the ship give the movie a sense of realism. It was created from parts of old plans found from a plane junkyard. The review has only good things to say about the movie. The Vocabulariast ends his review by claiming that the film was very influential to the sci-fi genre.
