Alien Better Than Recent Movies?
In the link, Roger Ebert gives his ever respected review of Alien. Although made in 1979, Ebert says that Alien is better than most sci-fi films that newer generations rave about. He comments about how the film kept us hooked through its slow pacing and silences. Most films nowadays tend to not build suspense, thus, giving you no surprise or shock factor. One quote I thought was clever from Ebert was, "It isn't the slashing that we enjoy. It's the waiting for the slashing." Whether you agree or not, I would check out this review. It's very thorough addressing every aspect of the film and may give you better insights that may change your opinion overall.
