Love+Death=Romantic

When your hear "romantic movie," you automatically think love, sex, innocence, and/or happily ever after. Well many movies can follow these thoughts, yet many others don't. Are those who don't follow these ideas succesful romantic movies? Why don't you ask the people who made Titanic, A Walk To Remember, Rappicini's Daughter, or Romeo and Juliet? All these movies and/or books consisted of both love and tragedy. I believe though, that tragedy was a key to make such movies succesful, a special element to show the love, the romance and all the elements that make up the meaning of love. If it wasn't for the tragic endings we wouldnt see what real love is, whether it was dying for the one they love or showing suffering as their loved one dies. No matter the movie, if love is involved, it is always one of the stronger themes. Now that I think about it, it is funny to think that love movies are succesful especially when death is involved.
