The Departed

The Departed was given four stars by the famous movie critic Roger Ebert. In his review on rogerebert.com, he beguins by introducing the film director Martin Scorsese. He then compares The Departed and its characters to some of his other films and their characters. He does this by saying " Most of Martin Scorsese's films have been about men trying to realize their inner image of themselves". He then gives a brief intoduction to the movie. About half way through the review he reveals that the movie was inspired by another film called Internal Affairs. It is not until more than halfway through the review that he introduces the main characters of the movie. Ebert then ends the review by bringing up religion and the film directors belifes. He concludes by saying "This movie is like an examination of conscience, when you stay up all night trying to figure out a way to tell the priest: I did wrong, but, oh, Father, what else was i gonna do?".
