Training Day

In Entertainment Weekly's review of the movie Training Day, author Owen Gleibermann cuts to the point very quickly. In the first paragrah he begins to criticize Denzel's performance as an actor, and then goes on to give the character profile of Alonzo Harris, Washington's character. "It's one of Denzel Washington's trademarks to cruise along on a vibe of foxy good humor. In Training Day, he does it ironically. He plays a show-off bad guy like a movie star who is so eager to play a show-off bad guy that he wants you to revel in his every fancy low-dog move." (Owen Gleibermann, Dirty Harris) In the same way does the author describe the supporting character Jake Hoyt, who is played by Ethan Hawke. As you read on, events in the plot line are revealed and once again, criticized by the writer.
